S.M.A.R.T Team Meeting

Strategic Management, Analysis, Requirements and Technology Team (SMART Team)
The SMART Team's purpose is to assist solving land transfer challenges thus helping to ensure safe and timely land transfers of Fort Ord property containing military munitions (MR) or unexploded ordnance (UXO). The team consists of senior members of the key decision-making agencies and organizations working in partnership focused on presenting innovative approaches or solutions to regulatory or technological issues hindering the transfer process. The partnership consists of the Installation, the Environmental Protection Agency Region IX, the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, the Army's Base Realignment and Closure Hampton Field Office and the Army Secretariat for Installations and Environment. Retired U.S. Army Colonel Dick Wright who has more than 29 years of experience in the MR/UXO field and who served for four years as the Chairman of the Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board will facilitate the meeting.
