Information Repositories
An Information Repository contains a sub-set of materials from the Administrative
Record file, and is typically more focused on public information needs. The purpose of the Information Repository is to allow convenient public access to documents relating to the cleanup of the former Army base, to inform the public about the cleanup process, and to provide the public with an opportunity for involvement in the remedial action planning and selection process at the Fort Ord Superfund site. Documents available in an Information Repository include major decision documents, site investigation, site cleanup and after-action reports, annual reports, meeting minutes and transcripts, a variety of community outreach information and other materials.
Currently there are two Information Repositories in the communities
surrounding the former Fort Ord. A limited number of documents in
hardcopy are shelved at the Monterey County Library - Seaside
Branch. Simply ask at the front desk for the location of the
Fort Ord Information Repository. The Circulation Desk at the California
State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) Library has a variety
of Fort Ord documents available on CD for public use on the library
computers. Both libraries offer free Internet access so patrons
can search the contents of the entire Administrative
Record online.
Please make arrangements with the Administrative Record office
at the number listed below to view documents in hardcopy that are
either not physically located at the Information Repositories or
not available online in electronic format.
